This is a print of my illustration of Virne “Jackie” Mitchell, one of the first women in professional baseball. During an exhibition game, 17 year old Mitchell struck out both Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig. A few days later, baseball commissioner Kenesaw Mountain Landis banned women from the sport due to it being "too strenuous." Mitchell's amazing performance most likely had something to do with it.

This is the perfect small gift for someone who loves baseball (or softball) or a person who just wants a piece of Women's history art to put on their wall.

Using photographs as reference, I illustrated this digitally using Adobe Photoshop and my trusty Wacom drawing tablet. I print it here at my home studio and it currently comes in three print sizes: 5 x 7 inch (12.7 x 17.8 cm), 8 x 10 inches (20.3 x 25.4 cm) and 11 x 14 inches (27.9 x 35.6 cm). Every size is on bright white, medium weight paper.
