I remember all the controversy that arose when Maya Lin's Vietnam War Memorial debuted. I remember seeing it for the first time. And I remember seeing it with my husband, a Vietnam vet who was seeing it for the first time. It is so appropriate and respectful, and definitely moving. Lin was wise beyond her years, as well as innovative, when she designed the wall of names. I will keep this print with a few artifacts of my husband's service.
