This is a print of my illustration of Oscar Micheaux (1859-1937), the first major Black filmmaker and the most successful Black filmmaker of the first half of the 20th century. He wrote, produced and directed over 40 films between 1919 and 1948. His films featured contemporary black life and often dealt with racial relationships in society.

This is the perfect small gift for the Oscar Micheaux fan, the early film enthusiast, or the person who just wants a piece of Black history art to put on their wall.

Using photographs as reference, I illustrated this digitally using Adobe Photoshop and my trusty Wacom drawing tablet. I print it here at my home studio and it currently comes in three print sizes: 5 x 7 inch (12.7 x 17.8 cm), 8 x 10 inches (20.3 x 25.4 cm) and 11 x 14 inches (27.9 x 35.6 cm). Every size is on bright white, medium weight paper.
